The funeral was also attended by Nelson's opponent, Admiral Villeneuve, who was granted dispensation to attend it. His wife fanny came to the funeral, although the one notable (and perhaps obvious) absentee was his Mistress Emma Hamilton.
The cathedral was decorated in French and Spanish flags, part of Nelson's coffin was fashioned from the mast L'Orient, one of the French warships that Nelson destroyed at the Battle of the Nile.
A very sad say, which Nelson will be proudly remembered for all that he has done for his country and for others, many people came to say their farewells, there was about 5,000 people who came to see him. And today his body lays peacefully in St.Paul's for many others like myself to visit and remember what he had done for His King and Country.
