On this day 'England Expects' that every man should do His Duty.
St Paul's Cathedral have remembered Horatio Nelson today as He died 208 years ago today, there lies his tomb.
Here above is where Horatio Nelson fell to his death. We remember and honour the man who died today at the age of 47 years old. a month after his Birthday, October 1805.
It's my great aspiration to learn Welsh! I've actually gotten a Rosetta Stone Course to do so, but I haven't had the oppurtunity to put more than a little time into it, sadly :-( So anyway, I always find it cool to meet a Welsh person :-) I know Rae-Rae is part Welsh herself, so it seems as if there has been a Celtic fusion here, ha, ha! Are you also in your teens?
Out of the curiousity, is the guy blowing the horn taking part in a traditional custom for Trafalgar Day? I know there are quite a few Waterloo Day customs (like someone handing the Queen the French flag!), but I don't know about this.

Hello pearl,
It is a pleasure to hear from you and I hope you are enjoying our page. We also run a facebook page called Horatio Times. I am sorry to say that I am limited in Welsh but do know a few words.. like Diolch :)
The poem myself and my husband wrote together so yes it is from our heart. I am lucky to find so many people interested In Nelson, they have all been great and I am enjoying being on their crew. The gentleman blowing the horn is getting involved in Trafalgar Day rememebering the death of Lord Nelson at St.Paul's Cathedral.
Keep posting and speak soon, Lovely to hear from you again,

Ahoy there and welcome to 'England expects', My name Is Maria Konsbruck, I am second in charge alongside Rae-rae who is Captain and in charge of This wonderful website. I am new to this and never really written a blog before so here goes. Where do i start..... I live in South Wales, cardiff and have been a Big Fan of Horatio Nelson since I went to Portsmouth back in July 2013 with my history Group. I feel The work of Nelson and his navy is hardly talked about in schools and the fact that he was great at his work and being a national hero needs to be remembered and visited again. So enjoy and look out for my posts and blogs :)
